Hopefully you will never be in an accident. Unfortunately, even the best drivers can be involved in an accident and it's important to know what to do.
First, remain calm. Make sure you determine whether any injuries have occurred and get help as soon as you can. Request medical assistance if needed.
File an accident report with the police (and with agent), even if the accident is minor in nature.
DO NOT leave the accident scene before the police arrive.
Take down the names, addresses, driver's license numbers, phone numbers and insurance companies of individuals involved in the accident, as well as the license plate numbers of the vehicles involved.
Also record the names and phone numbers of any witnesses to the accidents.
If you have access to a camera, take photographs of the accident scene.
Never admit fault at the scene.
If contacted by an attorney or insurance representative, refer those individuals to your Cornerstone claims adjuster.
Call Cornerstone claims at 877-426-4252 to report the accident. Report every accident, even if it was minor, wasn't your fault, or you don't have all the facts.
